When I first started writing the series The Pillars of Fluency, I was also putting together a model that could capture everything I was learning so I could apply that knowledge in my classes. This was the genesis of Nathaly’s Fluency Model, which I’ve now begun to call The Collective Fluency Model. This new name feels fair since it combines ideas from many authors, and of course, from you, readers of The Lighthouse! One of the latest updates to this model has been the addition of “identity” at the very foundation. Why? Because identity shapes everything else we do as learners.
