I know, it’s bonkers! How is it almost 2026 already? Is time going faster than it used to?

For many of us, this is that time of year when we sit down and start jotting down plans and goals for the year ahead. One of these days, I caught myself thinking about what I would like to improve in my English, and one of my goals for 2026 is to refine my speech so that the words fly off my tongue effortlessly. That goal is still very broad, isn’t it? What does it actually mean to speak effortlessly?

In this week’s video, I decided to share some tips on how to plan for the year ahead when it comes to improving your pronunciation. I give you practical suggestions, from how to set clearer goals to how to figure out what you should actually be working on. You'll leave the video with the push you didn't know you even needed to start 2026 off right!

I know... I had promised a more “scientific” issue for this week, but I just felt like we could all use a little help with goal setting right now. Plus, I do have some important announcements!

Do Not Lose your Accent to Sound Fluent
Ever since I became laser-focused on English pronunciation, I’ve been longing for the day I could record a video about why your accent is not a problem. For a long time, I believed the myth that sounding exactly like a “native speaker” (whatever that means?!) was the ultimate goal I should pursue. That belief stayed with me until a turning point back in college as an undergraduate student. I s...
5 Pronunciation Hacks for Everyday English
Last week I shared the first video of my brand-new series, The Science of Clear Pronunciation.  I have to say I'm so happy with your response (a great reminder that "silence" on Youtube doesn't always mean silence in real life). Some of you reached out directly, and I love that (but yes… comments do help the algorithm and help more learners find the content! hehe). For this week, I wanted to g...
