On Patience - Wrapping Up The Pillars of Fluency

I can't wait for you to read today's newsletter because it's the last post of our Pillars of Fluency series. Have you noticed how often we say "I can't wait to (insert something)," as in "I can't wait to start speaking English more fluently"? Sure, this phrase denotes excitement and expectation, but how often do we find ourselves anxiously wishing we could bypass the process that will actually make us competent users of the English language?

I remember the days when I thought I was just too slow despite all my hard work and dedication, and frustration flooded my heart. No, I wasn't learning "the wrong way." I was constantly immersing myself in the English language, I took time to diligently work on my vocabulary notebook, I spent countless hours journaling in English. What was wrong with me? Why was it taking so long? I couldn't wait anymore!
