My Two Non-negotiable Resources for Learning English

Last week, when I went live with Lisa from Your English Self, she asked me to share two resources that have been valuable to me as both an English learner and a teacher. My answer was simple: a notebook and a pen. That’s it. Why, though?
Lisa and I briefly touched on how writing by hand helps us process information more deeply, but I couldn’t quite remember where I first heard about the science behind it. Thankfully, a dear fellow teacher who watched the live stream (thank you, Dafne!) sent me a video about a recent study that investigated how handwriting leads to widespread brain connectivity. Of course, as a curious learner myself, I couldn’t resist diving deeper into what the research says. Ironically, I’m typing out this newsletter (because, well, I want you to actually be able to read it). Not that my handwriting is terrible (it’s not, really), but this is just much more practical. Plus, my goal today isn’t to study, but to share what I’ve learned from exploring the science behind handwriting.
