If I were to ask you whether you are a fluent English speaker, how would you answer my question? Yes? No? It depends? Not sure? Well, while going for a quick walk with my family yesterday (and quite honestly, while trying to escape the mosquitoes), we stopped by a small man-made waterfall to rest. The kids had been rambunctious (not a surprise!), and we thought this trail would give us the peace and rest we were all craving. As I watched the water flow, I couldn't help but think about how people become fluent in a language. I happened to have my journal with me, and I began to jot down a few words.
